I'm not planning on seeing them during this tour (due to money issues) but I did see them on their last tour when they were here in Orlando, and I agree completely with you!

I'm a huge "concert" person and have seen many, many shows, and while the Coldplay concert didn't change my life either, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Hmmm...maybe I'll try to find a way to scrounge-up some extra cash to purchase a ticket now.

I am a sucker for amphitheaters. I wish we had one in Nashville. They closed Starwood before I moved here.

I love Coldplay. I'm sure it was great. My favorite was a country concert at a local college in Maryland a few years back. Trick Pony performed then Phil Vassar. I loved it because it was a high energy, professional show but casual and intimate at the same time since it was in a small outdoor amphitheater on a summer afternoon.

Nanci Griffith circa 1992ish in Austinat the Paramount Theatre, Other Voices Other Rooms Tour with Emmylou Harris, Odetta, and other folk greats on each song. You did not know who was going to come out next and it was just SO AUSTIN. It was such a great concert!

My other favorite concerts are all over the map.

Billy Joel at Reunion Arena in 1989 - because he is the "ultimate" performer.

The Hotel Cafe Tour at WorkPlay Theatre in Birmingham - because it was such a unique collection of artists. And it was so fun to watch them interact together, like you were present for an intimate jam session.

Mark Knopfler at the Alabama Theatre because I have NEVER heard anyone so proficient on a guitar. Completely incredible.

Garth Brooks at Texas Stadium in the early 90s when he filmed those live TV specials. His concerts set the stage for the next generation of performers.

I have to split my best show between Justin Timberlake on the FutureSex/LoveSounds tour and MUSE on the Black Holes and Revelations tour.

MUSE was at War Memorial, and as such, had this lovely intimate feel. I'd never seen them before, and they've been one of my absolute favorite bands for years,so like your Coldplay experience, I had really high expectations walking in. I was completely blown away. The whole night had this huge, magical, shimmery feel to it. It was the ultimate rock show. I don't know if I'll ever see a better show.

Timberlake was very different -- huge set, lots of pyrotechnics, very theatrical, very over the top. It was incredible, as well, but lacked intimacy. But the music is so infectious, that you end up feeling like you're in a room with 75,000 of your best friends, just having a great time with an incredible dance album.

Aw, just thinking about both shows is making me nostalgic!

That sounds fun. I would like to check him out live. I've heard good things. I only know two of his songs though...Home and Save the Last Dance for Me.

Michael Buble - hands down. Saw him in Chicago. up in the balcony with a glass of wine and package of twizzlers. I went with my best friend the week before we left Chicago for good. If you ever get the chance, you should go see him. It's great!
