Fan-Addict

Oops, I meant fanatic.

Are you fanatical about something, anything?

Here’s the definition:

Do you have an obsessive interest in or enthusiasm for…

The Boss, Paula Deen, The Texas Longhorns, Fat Tire, The Gilmore Girls, Ryan Adams, University of Alabama Football?

Phish, Star Trek, Horses, Panic, Blogging, The Tennessee Titans, Donald Miller, 90210, C.S. Lewis, Star Wars?

Britney Spears, Fish Tacos, Twitter, Pete Yorn, Superheroes, The Chicago Cubs, Andy Stanley, American Idol, The Dallas Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboy Fan

Harley Davidson, Roger Federer, The Pioneer Woman, Apple, Harry Potter, University of North Carolina Basketball, Twilight?

What is it? That you are kinda crazy for? (Or maybe I should just ask what you have tattooed on your back?)

I’m fascinated because I like, even love, stuff. But I am not sure if I am truly fanatical about anything. Anything at all. And sometimes that makes me kinda sad. Like maybe I lack the passion needed to be “a true fan.”

Or maybe I’m just not obsessive, like you 😉

Maybe it' seems that you are not passionate or a fanatic because of the list of things that you chose. None of those rang my bell and yet I am a passionate person. I'm passionate about God and his glory, about seeing people change, about helping others, about living life well, being able to finish the race and hear those words – well done good and faithful servant. Those are the things that get me out of bed and keep me going.

    • I am certainly passionate about things like you mention above – God, Cross Point, Transparency. (Not that I'd get a tattoo on my back of any of those things.;) I was kind of focusing on lighter things that people go a little nutty for. In the South, college football is a big one!

  • Did you put Roger in there just for me? 🙂 I've never been a crazy, freakish fan but I have a bit of an obsession with Roger Federer and Marcus Buckingham. Anyone ridiculously good at what they do inspires me!

    • I was trying to find something for everyone. And yes, I thought Roger might strike a cord with you.

On this list one of the things I am most passionate about is Twilight. But I could never imagine myself going to this? http://www.creationent.com/twilight/index.htm That is unless you convince me. But even then, I still wouldn't dress up in costume!

I'm a fan a great teachers and leaders. Seems to be getting harder to find people with these qualities. Several that I follow with great interest is Dave Ramsey and Zig Ziglar.

    • I have several friends that follow Dave Ramsey with great interest. It is fun to hear them talk about his show, and the lives he is changing, with such enthusiasm.

  • Being a northern transplant here in Alabama, I meet alot of football fanatics. And I meet a few religious fundamentalist fanatics. But my word of preference when it comes to Jesus Christ is "passionate"- I like sports, mostly hockey and baseball, but I'm passionate about Jesus Christ and the gospel of grace.

  • Rush.

  • Rush. The band…not the talk show guy.

  • Okay, the lighter stuff, right? Well, I would say I am NUTS about coffee and pastry. I have no shame in driving MILES just for a bite of something heavenly at a favorite bakery or cafe. And I can't stop thinking about baking, eating, talking, laughing about them. Don't know if that counts. But, that's the only thing I could think of.

  • My first thought was that I'm not fanatical about anything; indeed, there are always people that are WAY more fanatical about stuff than I am!

But…. I suppose it's subjective. I think most people that really know me would say that I'm fanatical (and quite critical) about my photography, U2 (I'm going to see them in concert at the end of Oct. even though it'll be quite a road trip to get there!) I like my ESV Bible, Les Miserables, C.S. Lewis and a few other authors (because I love to read) I am fanatical about keeping my books in perfect condition and I never underline in them or dog ear their pages, I love to dress my little girl up in matching outfits, from head to toe, I love my church, gee…. It sounds like I'm pretty fanatical about a lot! But like I said, I'm definitely middle of the road compared to many on most of this stuff.

  • The TV show LOST….I will print out food labels that are associated with the show just for that night's treats. I am already having anxiety as this is the last season.

speaking of treats…..I have a severe addiction to nachos.

    peace~
