Fa La La La La
20

Posted on 21 December 2009 by Lindsey

It is December 21 and for some strange reason it is just now hitting me that Christmas is around the corner. (Although I’m still not quite sure what has happened to 2009?) Regardless…I am finally starting to feel festive.

I am just plain giddy as I think about the week ahead. Here are just a handful things I am looking forward to:

  • Celebrating with friends on Tuesday night before we all head out in a million different directions
  • Enjoying the “Christmas Eve” service at Cross Point (I am always traveling on Easter and Christmas and have to miss the holiday services at Cross Point BUT thankfully this year ther’s a service on the 23rd that I can attend before I fly out.)
  • Watching my nieces as they discover their goodies from Santa (Kids MAKE the holidays. If you don’t have any, you should really try to borrow some for the holiday ;)
  • Relaxing and soaking up some spa time with my mom and sister at Pinehurst (No, no one in my family plays golf. And yes, it is funny weird that I will have spent both Thanksgiving and Christmas at golf resorts.)

What are you most excited about this Christmas?

PS – I just realized I didn’t mention food once. Not gonna lie…I’m pretty impressed with myself because unfortunately most of my happy lists include food. But now that I think about it, I know that there is going to be some seriously good grub. Giddy.

    your going down…

  3. @spencesmith Hilarious. You have Iron Man. Why don't you let me have Words with Friends?

  4. SpenceSmith says:

1… because you are on your way to beating me in game two. 2… because i should get points because Ironman is one word not two… 3. because i royally suck at typos and could make a career of it so this game is helping me to spail rite. and 4… because that's what friends are words with friends for. 4…your play.

I'm excited for : Watermark's Christmas Eve service. Went last year to the mid-night service and LOVED it! Was encouraged and filled w/ joy by the stories of transformation people are experiencing.
Watching Christmas movies- plan to do this all day Wednesday : )
Christmas day is low key and relaxing for our family. A part of me still gets excited in opening the gifts and stockings on Christmas morning. It's definatly a time to count many blessings…grateful indeed!

Actually, as usually happens, the closer we get to Christmas the more stressed I get.

I try so hard to buy great presents for my wife but I find it incredibly stressful!

It actually spoils the whole thing for me!

I truly hope that you enjoy your Christmas though!

While I like what Christmas stands for…I really don't like the Christmas season. Of course, not having my boys here on Christmas won't help that. It's going to be nice to take my boys to their grandparent's house for the first time in seven years.

So cool! You will be so near where my dad's family grew up. I spent many summers near Pinehurst. Have a wonderful Christmas!!!!

I will give the cliche answer, to spend time with my family.
But to be honest, I always look forward to christmas day, when it is just me, my sisters, and my mom and dad. Just us, no one else. Sitting there, taking annoying pictures because my mom loves them, or the tradition of having to put the clothes on that you just got as a gift, or my dad insisting that we eat breakfast before we open presents.
That is what I am looking forward to the most.

  11. I'm most excited about unscheduled time with family and friends in my motherland (Virginia). I love decorating cookies with my best friend from childhood and her 2 girls, and we will be celebrating the 6-year-old's birthday tomorrow (I guess that's scheduled … but you know what I mean, I won't have that whole 'tyranny of the urgent' thing going on). I'm also pretty excited about not having to set my alarm and sleeping past 6:30. Oh oh! And I get to hang out with/brush/feed many, many carrots to my old horse, Icy, who's getting up there in years (29).

    Merry Christmas, twitterfriend!
