Reflections on a Year of Blogging

I love how anniversaries, birthdays, and seasons serve as a reminder to reflect on where you started, how far you’ve come, and where you want to go.

It seems crazy that just a year ago I began blogging. It all began with a short post that shows exactly how little I knew about the journey that lied ahead.

Candidly when I started blogging I had no idea….

No idea that I’d have ANY readers (except for my mom and dad, they were kind of shoe-ins).

No idea that I’d enjoy writing.

No idea how much I’d learn about myself through the process of writing.

No idea that I’d meet many fascinating folks from all around the world.

No idea that I’d find myself energized by dorky things like talking blogging strategy with friends and colleagues.

No idea how encouraged I’d be by practical strangers.

No idea how that I’d learn to live more as a result of putting myself out there here.

No idea that something so simple would change my life.

But it has.

Blogging has changed my life. It has changed me.

And so I wanted to take a moment to let you know that at I am grateful for each one of you.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for inspiring me to keep on.

Well Linsey, I haven't been to your blog yet, but oddly enough follow you on twitter and enjoy you mini posts. I understand what you are saying about how blogging can really change your life. I took a break for about 6 months and found myself missing the challenging comments and virtual interactions with friends I have made around the world. I can honestly say that some of people I blog with are ones whom i could see myself 'hanging with' if I ever were to show up in their neck of the woods so to speak. I look forward to getting plugged into this blog and would invite you to join in the conversation at my site as well! Blessings!

It is strange how much time one can spend thinking about writing, actually writing, and reading what others are writing. It's a crazy beautiful way to see the world. So glad you are along for the ride!

Congrats on a year! It’s funny how an anniversary makes you kind of realized that you are a ‘real’ blogger, and not just blogging as a little side hobby. It does change you. For me, it’s kind of painful to look back on how I started blogging. It wasn’t very good. Not that my blogging now is any good! And I waited a month to tell anyone I knew about my blog, because I didn’t want to tell them about it and then quit.

    A year! Wow, congratulations!

I love the way you share and open yourself up on your blog, I feel like I'm getting to know the real you without ever having met you – and you have encouraged me and taught me a lot!

I hope this is just the first year of many!
