A little over a year ago, I told a few friends that I wanted to start a blog. They looked at me in utter disbelief and said, “What are you going to write about?” They might as well have asked, “What in the world do YOU have to say?” Feeling a little defeated, I answered, “I’m not really sure, I just want to try it and see if I like it.”

    Lindsey,
    You have been an encourager for me to blog. I started writing as an outlet to share our mission experiences. Then it became more than just a "journey log." Now it is more of a personal narrative for my daily thoughts and interesting ideas that I come across in my reading/studies that I want, and sometimes need, to share.
    Many people in my church are now reading and encouraging me to write and share. It really does feel anonymous as I write, but it reaches across the blogosphere and touches lives that you could never imagine.

    I'm still uncovering the tension of self and substance on my blog… but I'm slowly turning a corner. Just like you, I'm learning about me. it's the craziest thing. Thanks articulating words to my thoughts.

      The tension of self and substance is hard. But there are so many people out there who are experts…I just want to read about people who are themselves.
