[...] When I asked Lindsey for a recommendation, she sent me four. I love it. I’m going to share with you all of her recommendations, but I picked the one that I thought most fit the theme here at The Esau Project to give away. The Me I Want To Be: Becoming God’s Best Version of You seemed to fit the bill just perfectly. I asked everyone to tell me why they were recommending a book, and this is what Lindsey said about The Me I Want To Be: “I love this book. Love this book. If you have ever wondered what your calling is for, this book is for you.” She’s even written a couple posts about the book and her thoughts on it over at I’m Just Saying, which is her blog. You can find them here and here.
I'm not sure if I have commented before but I have followed your blog for a few months and I really enjoy it.
Being on the beach, in the water, and the drive home from the beach with the windows down, those are the times when I feel most centered, like I can be quiet and still without distractions. That makes me feel very alive.
Thanks for the book recommendation, I will have to check it out.
My recent post <a href="http://andrea-andbabymakes6.blogspot.com/2010/07/home.html" target="_blank">Home</a>

i'm so glad God doesn't do one-size-fits-all. there is so much freedom in that for me.

and your list of what makes you fully alive has me wondering what mine is. i don't know why, but i find it difficult to think through things and "nail them down" in that way. but i should make myself try.

That sounds like a great book that I would love to add to my "To Read" list. :) When I clicked on the link I saw another book by Ortberg called "Faith & Doubt." Doubting has been a HUGE struggle for me lately and I was wondering if anyone else has read that book and would recommend it or another one.

Thanks!

I think what makes me feel most alive is when I can really let myself go and just play the piano for me. When I can do that, I feel fully immersed in the moment and it's just thrilling. It doesn't really matter what kind of music I'm playing -- I feel God most closely when I can play with abandon.

I've been hearing good things about that book--I want to read it!!

What makes me feel alive?
So many things I could say, but at this very moment, having been baptized yesterday at Cross Point, Jesus makes me feel alive. I've never felt anything like this in my entire life. 3 months ago I was contemplating ending my life. And now I'm so very much alive because Christ is alive in me.
My recent post <a href="http:\/\/silenthearts.wordpress.com\/2010\/07\/19\/youre-stuck-with-me\/" target="_blank">You’re Stuck With Me…</a>

Creativity makes feel me alive. Enjoying the mundane, and everyday ordinary tasks (that is quite the challenge, because you have to choose it everytime). Reading and rereading a blog post because my mind can't wrap itself around the Profound thought being presented. Just learning to be still and knowing that God is God.

Getting lost, getting caught in the rain, enjoying a friends presence or memory. Being inspired by great photography. Hearing the same sermon from two different preachers in the same Sunday from two diverse denominations.

I could probably go on and on. But I'll keep it short.
