Looking Back at IF:Gathering

Last weekend I gathered with 1,200 women in Austin, Texas, and more than 40,000 online for the first IF:Gathering. Truth be told, both attendees and organizers weren’t quite sure what to expect.

The vision to “gather, equip, and unleash the next generation of women to live out their purpose” was clear but everything else was vague. But I’ve never seen anything like it y’all. Women boldly and bravely stepped up, and out of their comfort zones…they travelled alone, they bunked up with practical strangers, they opened up their homes and churches to friends…in hopes that God would move.

And move He did. Through worship, through words spoken on the stage, and through the nudging from the new friends we broke bread with.

I’m still unpacking the whole experience but wanted to get some pictures up for you to browse through. If you would like to experience IF:Gathering, it’s not too late.

1. Go here to purchase a digital download.

2. Go here to join us as we read our bibles together. {We kicked off IF:Equip with John 1 yesterday.}

3. Go here to learn more about IF:Table. A monthly call to invite 5 friends over for a monthly dinner.

I’m so very proud of, and grateful for, Jennie Allen {the IF founder}, Jessica Taylor and Amy Brown {the IF staff}, Paige, Jadee, Jordyn and Kalie {the IF interns}, the leadership team, the advisory team and everyone else whose blood, sweat and tears brought this thing to life. So proud.

Were you in Austin or online? If so, I’d love to hear how your experience was in the comments.

    I co-hosted an IF:Local with two friends in the suburbs of DC. We had about 30 women throughout the course of the weekend. Women from multiple churches in our area came together in one of our host’s home to grapple with these questions. The discussions went deep fast and were so authentic. I think one of the things that made the difference was that the women who attended really really wanted to be there. All had to arrange childcare and adjust all kinds of schedules and details to participate. So once we were together we dove deep and it was incredible. I think that through IF:Table we will continue meeting and being processing how to put what we learned into action. Some of us are already starting a book discussion for “7″! What a refreshing, challenging and inspiring experience it was. THANK YOU!! :)

      Thank you for hosting! I can’t imagine all the work that went into gathering a group. So glad it was a positive experience for you all. I too am looking forward to IF:Table to gather with a small, local group to process life together. It’s going to be so good.

    It was so great witnessing this online I can’t even imagine what it was like being there in person. I can’t believe how reasonable the price is for the digital download. I will definitely be adding one to my cart and possibly another for a friend. Thanks so much to everyone for their hard work.

    I went to Austin with some of my girls from Phoenix. Alysa actually introduced us on Thursday night at Tsh’s book release. It was nice to meet you. I was so honored to be there. You and the rest of the team did an amazing job of putting together a vision. I especially loved the moment when we all worked together to feed Bolivia! I blogged about my biggest take-away here http://www.thelanggangloves.com/2014/02/reflections-from-ifgathering.html

      Yes. So glad you were all there together. It is nice to have friends who were there who understand the experience. I’ve found it hard to describe to those who didn’t go or watch online.

    I was in Austin. I haven’t quite found the words to describe it. I don’t know when I will. And I don’t know that I want to share parts of it. It was precious time with Jesus for me. And I hadn’t had that in a really long time.
