A Crazy Couple of Weeks

I’m about to embark on a crazy couple of weeks. Crazy fun. But also just a little crazy nutty.

Tomorrow morning I head out to not-so-sunny Southern California for Catalyst West. I went to my first Catalyst conference this fall in Atlanta. To say I loved it doesn’t quite do the conference justice. I ate it up. With a spoon. I can’t wait to experience it’s West coast counterpart, to hang out with friends old and new, to stay at “The Markley Bed & Breakfast”, and to see Michael Hyatt in action (he’s teaching a must-see lab on Platform: What It Is, Why You Need it, and How to Build It. I unfortunately have to cut the conference short and head out early on Friday morning to fly back to Nashville.

Because Saturday is a big day. On Saturday at the crack of dawn I will set out to tackle the Country Music Half Marathon with the Powered by Hope team, plus special guests Alece and Tracee. I’m going to be real here and tell you that I’m looking forward to the company much more than the 13.1 mile race. Oh, and the finish line, I’m definitely excited about that!  All this to say it’s not you’d call a relaxing weekend. Fun, nutty, even rewarding, but not relaxing.

Then next Tuesday afternoon I am headed up to Chicago for the Q Conference. This will be my first time to do Q. I’m kind of nervous, but have heard that it is ah-maz-ing, that it will jump start my brain and change the way I think.

From Chicago I fly to Birmingham for a baby shower and a pseudo-bachlorette weekend with one of my very best friends who is walking down the aisle in May. Then back to Nashville, to collapse in a fit of exhaustion.

Like I said. A crazy couple of weeks.

So how about you…what do you have going for the next couple of weeks?

Oh, and please let me know if you are going to be at Catalyst West or Q Conference. I’d love to meet you and take this “relationship” to the next level. I’ll be tweeting tidbits from the events so if you want to “follow me” just click here.

    • might have to do that. i always love smacking practical strangers in the head. makes a great impression. especially if you hit them hard. 🙂

  • I don't have nearly as eventful of a schedule as you have coming up but it's kinda crazy nonetheless, this time of the year always is. It's like we wake up one day and everything is happening all at once (spring sports, theater, youth) and then it's summer break.

Praying for safe travels and good times for you. And sleep, definitely sleep.

  • Sounds like a busy, crazy schedule but a lot of fun. I would love to get to Catalyst one day. I don't have a crazy week upcoming other than working on writing, working on a counseling course, reading three books to review, cleaning, taking care of my family, going to dance class, yada yada yada. 🙂

  • Jacklyn

You're going to be a busy lady! I can't wait to hear about how the conferences go. I'll be doing the half this weekend, the full marathon in cincy the next and then the weekend after that is my b-day, next weekend parent come into town for graduation and then a wedding at the end of May. agh. Where'd all my free time go 😉

  • Well, in the next little bit, my schedule looks a little crazy too:
    – This weekend, heading to the NC mountains for district ladies retreat. Singing special music while I'm there. Hmm, probably should start working on my song 🙂
    – Next weekend, annual Strawberry Festival in my town – parade goes right by my house, so I host a big party to watch the parade and then we eat strawberry shortcake.
    – Baby showers – both of my sisters are pregnant.
    – Missions trip to Dominican Republic in June
    – Helping with a conference in Nashville later in summer.

  • I have a crazy couple weeks coming up too! Tomorrow I travel 3 hours to go to my denominations yearly convention. I am there until Saturday afternoon. I preach on Sunday and then I drive 6 hours so that I can fly out Monday morning to New York (about 11 hours of traveling) for the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Conference at New Life Fellowship in Queens. We fly back on Monday and then drive back home on Tuesday!!

My wife and I will get two free days in New York so I will get a bit of rest in there! 🙂
