If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I am a big fan of John Mark McMillan and his song, “How He Loves.” Big fan.

Such a big fan that I had 9 of my blogging friends share their thoughts on the song.

Such a big fan that I begged my friend Stephen Brewster to give me whatever John Mark McMillan tracks he had so I could feed the frenzy. And to stop me from pestering him, he relented and gave me a copy of The Medicine. And I’ve loved it. Loved it.

John Mark, is really talented. His music is different, in a great way. It is creative. It is risky. And it is ripe with emotions.

Here’s a link so you can check out The Medicine on iTunes.

But today, to celebrate the official release of The Medicine, I get to give away 10 copies.

So…would you like to win a copy?

If so, leave a comment below sharing a few words about a  song that you has moved you lately. I will randomly choose 10 commenters on Friday and will notify them via email that they will be getting a copy of  “The Medicine.”

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

Update: Winners Selected and Notified on July 9th. Thanks everyone for your comments. Have a lot of new music I need to check out!

Oh, that is such a tough one! There are always so many songs going through my head… and I'm a lyric oriented person; the words mean so much to me! I have really been enjoying John Mark McMillan's music. I saw him in early June in concert with Gungor (it was so awesome! I have photos on my blog) and was really impressed. Since then I've heard so much about him and his music. I saw his Death in His Grave video and instantly fell in love with those lyrics.

Lately I've been singing Matt Maher's song "Christ is Risen From the Dead"
"Christ is risen from the dead/trampling over death by death/come awake, come awake,/come and rise up from the grave…… the whole thing is really beautiful. Actually I loved his whole Alive Again album.

Lately I've been convicted about seeing people the way God sees them, so I've really been touched by Brandon Heath's "Give Me Your Eyes"

Hey Lindsey!! I heard this song a couple of years ago but it came back to memory a couple of weeks ago at the Nashville Rising Concert. Leann Rimes song "What I cannot change" (written by her and Darrell Brown)

I know what makes me comfortable
I know what makes me tick
And when I need to get my way I know how to pour it on thick
Cream and sugar in my coffee
    Right away when I awake
I face the day and pray to God I won't make the same mistakes
Oh the rest is out of my hands

I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to love what I cannot change
But I will change, I will change
    Whatever I, whenever I can

    I don't know my Father
    Or my Mother well enough
Seems like every time we talk we can't get past the little stuff
    The pain is self inflicted
I know it's not good for my health
But it's easier to please the world than it is to please myself
Oh the rest is out of my hands

I even wrote a post about it back in 2008…

The power of words whether spoken or put to music is truly amazing. Hope you enjoy!

This week I was introduced to Michael Smith’s Goodnight. I think it was on Tim Challies blog. It is a powerful song about how sad death is but also has the hope of resurrection and reunion. It came from an old German hymn.

I'm really enjoying all things Jimmy Needham right now. His new album Nightlights is pretty awesome. Song I've most enjoyed on the album is called Part The Clouds.

I've seen JMMc and really enjoyed his show. Looking forward to this album.

Several times "How He Loves" has been on repeat on my ipod. I really like the original version the best – the "sloppy wet kiss." Reminds me of my dog :) I also love "Rain It Down." You've probably heard of that one somewhere.

How He Loves is an amazing song! Our praise team sang it a few Sundays ago — “sloppy wet kiss” and all! Such amazing lyrics. I can’t stop singin it. I would really love to win a copy of the cd…

    Hey –

I know this is old, I'm not trying to win anything. But just wanted to say this song has moved me so so much. I started my blog with it in mind…
